6.    Megha śyāmam pītakouśeyavāsam śrīvastānkam koustubhodbhasitangam|

Puyṇopetam puṅdarīkayatākṣham viṣṇum vande sarvalokaikanadham||

 

  • Word Meanings:
  • Megha : cloud
  • śyāmam: dark color
  • pītakouśeyavāsam : yellow colored silk garments
  • śrīvastānkam :  with a symbol( mole) on his chest
  • koustubha udbhasitangam:  chest brightened by the sparkling koustubha jewel
  • Puyṇopetam: virtue or righteousness- attained through good virtues
  • puṅdarīkayatākṣham : pundarikam is a white lotus flower, has eyes like lotus petals (an epithet of Viṣṇu)
  • Viṣṇu : Lord Viṣṇu
  • vande : I bow down
  • sarvalokaikanadham: only  Lord to the whole universe
  • Translation:
I bow down to Pundarikāksha, Lord Viṣṇu, who is the only Lord of whole universe, who is dark as a cloud, with a birthmark on his chest which is brightened by the sparkle of the precious jewel Koustubha, who wears yellow colored silk garments round his waist, with Sri symbol on his chest can be attained by good virtues and righteousness.
