1. Rāmam ratna kirīta kundala dharam keyūra hārānvitam

    Sitālamkruta vāmabhāga mamalam simhāsanāstam prabhum

Sugrīvādi samasta vānara ganaiḥ samsevyamānam sadā

Viśwāmitra Parāśarādi munibhiḥ samsthūya mānam bhaje||

  • Word meanings:
    • Rāmam: Lord Rāma;
    • Ratna kirīta: crown made of precious jewels;
    • Kundala: ear rings;
    • Dharam: wears;
    • Keyūra: arm let:
    • Hārānvitam:  wears necklace round his neck;
    • Sitālamkruta vāmabhāga: with his consort Sita on his left side;
    • Mamalam: enough for me;
    • Simhāsanāstam: sitting on the throne;
    • Prabhum: Lord;
    • Sugrīvādi: Vānara king Sugriva and others;
    • Samasta: every one;
    • Vānara: Monkeys;
    • Ganai: soldiers;
    • Samsevyamānam:  pursue serving you with great respect;
    • Sadā: always;
    • Viswāmitra: sage Viswāmitra;

    • Mānam: respect:
    • Bhaje: sing the praises of the Lord.
  • Translation:
            I respect highly and sing the praises of Lord Rāma who wears crown, ear rings and necklace round his neck made of precious jewels, strong in every aspect, who sits on the throne with his consort Sita on his left side, surrounded by the monkey king Sugriva and his monkey warriors and the sages Viswāmitra and ParasuRāma who wants to pursue serving you with great respect.
