9 .Markateśa! mahotsāha sarva śokanivāraka

Śatrūn samhāra mām raksha śriyam dāpaya me prabho ||

  • Word meanings:
    • Markateśa: supreme person among the monkeys;
    • Mahotsāha:  has ample power;
    • Sarva: at all times;
    • Śokanivāraka: dispeller of sorrow;
    • Śatrūn: enemies;
    • Samhāra: destroyer;
    • Mām: me;
    • Raksha: protects;
    • Śriyam: resort to;
    • Dāpayam: to grant;
    • He prabho: Oh Lord.
  • Translation:
Oh! Lord, who is the supreme person among the monkeys, has ample power, I resort to you to dispel sorrows, protect me from enemies at all times.
